CBT wins writing awards
For the third year in a row, the Columbia Business Times won first-place awards in a competition organized by the Missouri Association of Publications.
The CBT won the Ranly 2009 award for Best Issue in its class, business-to-business publications in Missouri with a circulation of less than 25,000. The judges wrote of the Columbia Business Times: “A variety of voices from the community provide strong opinions, and an array of departments introduce readers to leading citizens in the community. A strong and commendable effort.”
The CBT also won the Ranly 2009 award for Best Writing in its class. The judges wrote: “The mix of staff-written stories, freelancer stories and regular columnists works nicely.”
The awards are named after Don Ranly, professor emeritus at the Missouri School of journalism. They were handed out during the Missouri Association of Publications (MAP) Publishing Summit on March 5 at the Holiday Inn Select Executive Center. MAP is a professional organization for print and electronic magazine and newsletter publishers.
