Marybeth Gillum has been appointed assistant vice president of the Central Bancompany Customer Service Center. The center manages all incoming calls for the company’s 13 community banks. Gillum manages 45 employees including those who serve as the company’s online banking service center. Gillum has been in the customer service field for more than 10 years. She was consumer relations manager for Salton, Inc. before being promoted in 2006 to director of human resources. Gillum began with BCNB in 2007 as director of the customer service center. She received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Columbia College.
Woodruff Sweitzer announced Tom Apple has joined the agency as vice president, business development. Apple is responsibile for expanding and gaining new business in all agency specialty areas. Apple has more than 25 years of agency experience in the Kansas City. area, having worked for some of Kansas City’s top ad agencies developing and implementing regional, national and international business-to-business and direct-to-consumer marketing communications programs. Apple holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Kansas. Apple will be based in the Kansas City office.
Dustin Schlender has joined the Commercial Property and Casualty Insurance Division of Winter-Dent & Company as an account executive. Schlender is a graduate of Jefferson City High School and Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg. He worked with the Department of Veteran Affairs and served in the Army National Guard, with whom he did a tour of duty in Iraq. Kristy Schriefer has been hired with Winter Dent & Company as their individual health insurance sales representative. Kristy has been employed for 10 years at Winter Dent & Company, which has locations in Jefferson City and Columbia.
Promotions
U.S. Cellular has promoted Kim Benner of New Franklin to agent account executive in its central Missouri service areas including Columbia, Eldon, Fulton, Boonville, Mexico and Centralia. Her responsibilities include managing and supporting agent partners through sales education and training about U.S. Cellular products and services that meet the unique needs of customers and provide complete customer satisfaction. Prior to joining U.S. Cellular in 2000, Kim was a coordinator for MFA Oil Co. in Columbia. While at U.S. Cellular, she has worked as an administrative assistant to the agent partner sales team until her promotion to agent account executive.
Awards
David Townsend, president and CEO of Agents National Title Insurance Company, was named the Missouri Land Title Association’s Young Title Professional of the Year. The Young Title Professional is a member of the association under the age of 35 that is in a management position and makes positive contributions to the land title insurance industry. Townsend founded Agents National Title Insurance in 2006 and the company is now licensed in four states, with additional licenses pending.
