Boulevard Bank closing Columbia branch
Boulevard Bank will close its branch in Columbia on Jan. 29 and is leaving the local banking market.
“It’s not in our best interest to remain in the market,” Misti Johnson, senior vice president of operations, said, adding that the decision is part of the bank’s ongoing review of operations.
Boulevard Bank was chartered in 1884 and is based in Neosho in the far southwest corner of Missouri. The bank has four locations, including its branch in south Columbia at 10 Southampton Dr.
Boulevard Bank, which opened its Columbia branch in 2004, has had a slight gain in its share of the Columbia metropolitan area’s banking market in the past four fiscal years, from .14 percent to .22 percent. The FDIC Market Share Report shows that Boulevard Bank’s deposits in the local market, $6 million as of June 30, have nearly doubled since July 2004.
