Bambinos seeking buyer, plans to close in May
Unless a buyer steps forward, Bambino’s Italian Café owner Brian Ash has announced he will close the restaurant by May 16.
Ash had planned to move the restaurant to the Broadway Villager after his contract on the restaurant’s Hitt Street building expires. He has decided not to go through with the move and seek out a buyer now.
Ash, who’s owned and operated the restaurant for 15 years, said he has cut his asking price for the restaurant by two-thirds and is exploring buying the building Bambino’s would have moved into and selling it along with the business.
“I’d like to spend these last few months remembering 15 years of good times,” Ash said in a post on the restaurant’s site. “It’s kind of like a coach announcing his retirement before his final season so everyone has a chance to pay their tributes and say their goodbyes.”
